About

My love of styling hair goes back as early as I can remember. The first time I talked someone into letting me cut their hair, she and I were 7. I consider myself an artistic dabbler, with a love for jewelry-making, painting, pottery, handbag design, photography, interior design & decorating (and more!) but hair has always been my favorite art.

I was born & raised in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, where I collected a Business degree, I moved to Minneapolis to study Cosmetology at The Aveda Institute headquarters.

After Aveda, I returned to Nashville to be a part of my hometown's blossoming revitalization. I worked and lived all over the city, doing home renovations, neighborhood advocacy projects, and, of course, lots of hair. I worked with the highest performing brands and as an educator, but always wanted more eco-friendly options.

In 2012, I answered a tug on my heart & a call from God to move to California. I settled into Santa Monica and participated in a tech start-up as Director of HR & Culture. All the while, I continued my hair-styling career in a freelance capacity while also extensively researching eco-friendly & non-toxic hair products.

I've spent the majority of my adult life studying natural health, healthy living, and eco-friendly products for food, body, hair, makeup, & lifestyle. I am passionate about creating life-giving environments & experiences.

My specialty is natural haircutting & color: cuts that work with your natural texture, hair coloring that complements your natural coloring, with both designed to grow out beautifully. I'm happy to represent both Beautycounter & NATULIQUE as healthy, high-performing product lines.
